What is Rollerskating Travels?
Plain and simple it follows one crazy woman’s adventures around Australia to visit every rollerskating rink or skating dedicated venue still open to the public.
But Rollerskating Travels is more than just a record of one person’s journey. This blog will recognise Australia’s rollerskating rinks and the amazing communities these places foster.
I will be reviewing rinks, exploring different roller sports, sharing tips, and interviewing skaters.
Many people in Australia are united through the wheels on their feet.
But Australia is a vast country and it can be difficult for new skaters to find their place in this community.
Rollerskating Travels aims to help with that.
About Me
Hi! I’m Seanna, the vanlifer and writer that created Rollerskating Travels.
I worked at two rollerskating rinks as a teen and it was these rinks that ignited my passion for all things skating.
I especially love the social aspect when skaters gather, but I noticed there weren’t any updated lists or places you could go to find these gatherings.
So I thought, ‘Someone should make one!’
With a bachelor’s degree in creative writing and publishing, clearly I love to write.
I love to skate, especially at rinks, and I’ve been dying to travel around this beautiful country I call home.
With that in mind, I spent a year fitting out a van to live in for this journey, and Rollerskating Travels was born.
